10/9/2016 - jjjordan Likes this wine: NRWas prepared to decant this a bit but felt it was ready straight away and we let it open over the course of the evening. Medium color for a Pinot. Red fruit, mushrooms, and cocoa on the nose and full, bright red fruit on the palate. Drinking very well right now and we enjoyed it. Starting to get the feeling that while '07 clearly isn't as good as '08, it's not nearly as bad as everyone initially made it out to be. |

1/4/2014 - bterry3 Likes this wine: NRA nice Zin. Cork disintegrated on opening, had to push 1/2 cork into bottle and filter wine. Rich fruit forward. This bottle survived a shelf collapsing at the wine store. Label ripped and stained but wine still good!

Like many '95s, this is still structured but beginning to show all of the complex character that you've been waiting for, starting with an intense aroma both savory and stony. The flesh might be slightly meager in comparison to the skeleton, but it takes full advantage of what it's got. It's completely and utterly transparent and tastes every bit as evocative as it smells.

10/9/2016 12:35:00 PM - I fully agree with your 2007 Oregon Pinot assesment. I've been a huge fan of '07 since they came out. Weather-wise 2007 was tough (lots of rain at the wrong time), however I think one of the main reasons the vintage was panned so hard was because it was sandwiched between 2006 - which was a very warm vintage that produced very big, voloptuous wines that showed nice early (although now most of them are shot), and 2008 which is hands down one of the best recent vintages in the valley; another problem was that '07's really didn't show well at all early. However, now they are really starting to shine.
Coincidentally, I drank an '07 Beaux Freres Willamette Valley on Friday and it was in a real nice place.
