There is a little spice (nutmeg, allspice) lurking beneath the fruit, but it definitely isn't pronounced. It almost has a Dr. Pepper quality to it. Truth be told, this seems a bit simplistic and one-dimensional compared to other Davis Family wines I've had. Noticeable heat on the finish, but it didn't detract much from the overall experience. Good bottle if you like the ultra-ripe style, but not a great value. |
