Brunello di Montalcino. #3; COLOR-tremendous, dark for a Brunello; NOSE-great, strawberries & huge Vanilla extract, hints of: strawberry, cranberry, cedar box, menthol; TASTE-if you're a big fan of Syrah and CA cult Cabs, you like this wine; very good, very structured, ton of fruit, very extracted, crushed blackberries & raspberries w/ hints of cinnamon & vanilla extract, very luscious & fruity, super silky finish, but not like a traditional Brunello, more like a New World fruit bomb, ; WS's 2006 Wine of the YEAR; WS-97; GV-93 93 points |

Pomerol. #1; COLOR-great; NOSE-loaded w/ real cinnamon stick flavors, lots of coffee & mocha, very intriguing; TASTE-explosive on the palate, enormous amount of sour cherry, great rigid structure all the way through, phenomenal grip, this OWNS your palate, earthy flavors, well-balanced, flavors that go on for days, extremely long finish, young, but drinking beautifully now, firm tannins & a bite on the finish, the 30-40 year potential is shocking & exciting, I'm BLOWN away by this wine; RP-91-94; GV-94 94 points |
