6/3/2020 - SuperSomm wrote: NRDeep purple colour. Medium nose with blueberry, strawberry and vanilla. Medium taste of strawberry, blueberry and plastic. Medium (-) long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Light tannins. Medium body. An acceptable red wine that lacks complexity and has a lingering taste of plastic. Drink now. Goes well by itself or pizza. |

But the aromas of earth and red cherry show no oxidation. Rolls into the mouth with more complexity and concentration than the earlier taste suggested. Bright acidity without any sourness, very tasty red cherry, ample tannin with no astringency. Closer to a French red Burgundy than many lush and dense California Pinots in how the acidity, tannin, elegance, and dryness figure in the taste. At 10 years old, nicely integrated, enjoyable, and even easy drinking. Good to go anytime in the next 3 to 5 years. |

11/12/2014 - Mossrose wrote: 93 pointsThis wine started singing only after being opened for two days. The color deepened and the wine shrugged off a touch of clove and candy sweetness. The core taste includes a blackberry acidity, rich black cherry, and firm background tannins, Definitely scales up to a reserve level in color, size, how mouth filling the taste is, and how persistent the aftertaste is. After being opened for 6 days, the final taste adds a round and silky feel. |

10/1/2023 - Mossrose Likes this wine: 90 pointsWow, I thought this wine might be somewhat too old but it was rocking tonight. Color light with a tad of browning on the edges. Typical 'Pinot Nose" with dark berry fruit and a tough of nicely integrated yet discernible tannins. Shows how keeping (even inexpensive) pinot can pay off. |
