Nose: Ripe blue and red fruits, some herbal notes again.
Palate: larger body, more tannin than the rest of the lineup, decent acid, fruit the same as the nose but short-ish finish.

Not interesting or concentrated enough for the price, IMO.

Nose: a bit of funk, some red licorice/medicinal notes.
Palate: Cranberry, medicinal, some funk, which are all nicer here than in the other wines in the lineup, but unfortunately not that well integrated. The M+ acid here also complements and helps with the complexity of the wine.

Overall, probably not worth the price to me, but has way more character and life than the other reds in this lineup.

K&L Jean-Michel Giboulot Tasting: Riper, showing the warmer vintage, but not particularly compelling.

Nose: Immediately riper fruit character than the other reds in this tasting, sappy, ripe red fruit. Reflecting the slightly deeper color of this wine.
Palate: follows through on the palate, decent acid and fruit come together at the start. A bit of raspberry and strawberry.

Pretty good for the price, but it doesn't really have the concentration or complexity that would help take it to the next level. Not for me, but not necessarily bad value.

Nose: Cream, butter, some smoke and flintiness
Palate: Lemon curd but mostly some medium/medium+ acidity and lacking in complexity. A decent, enjoyable bitter finish that lasts.

The body helps make this a more exciting experience for what is otherwise a pretty simple wine. For the price, a buy, the only one in the tasting that strikes me as worth it.

Really beautiful- a little tightly-wound right now and will easily improve with a short cellar nap, but it's not closed or harsh. Somewhat on the dark-fruited spectrum but still mostly "high-pitched", a bit of a blueberry vibe here and there, almost fresh wild mulberry, plus a big dose of bright earthy/herbal tones; not sure if that's stems, reduction, or what (terroir?), but it's *mostly* well-integrated (adding complexity and only occasionally threatening to bury the fruit.) Sometimes a little peppery and tough- other times more like fresh herbs and florals.

Really beautiful balance on the palate too, with some good clean fruit, neither super-ripe or overly-tart. Just some nice crisp wild berry acidity, and a bit more of that earthy tone that takes a serious turn into stony minerality by the finish.

FWIW, really reminded me the Albert Morot Beaune Teurons 1er 2019 (which I "rated" the same). This had a bit more actual fruit presence, though, and slightly less harsh structure- I preferred this Giboulot, but maybe not enough to rate it higher? Or maybe I'm underrating it...

Glycerin forward. While not as over-extracted as some US west coast Pinot Noirs, it’s definitely on the sweet side for a Burgundy. Enjoyable to sip pre-dinner, but not the best when pairing with foods. On the simple side.

Retasted after one day, stored in the fridge. Much more balanced and exuberance has settled, super juice of ripe cherries and their stones, dried cranberries, dried brambles, a hint of brûlée. Long sweat and juicy palate. No oak felt, but still a technic wine. Needs few more years. 91-92
