5/19/2024 - wconnolly Likes this wine: 92 pointsAnother offering for the gala dinner with friends at Hemmingway's Bistro in Oak Park, IL. Deep indigo color. Brighter, lighter and a touch more one dimensional than the '09 Mayacamas. Raspberry, cassis, black tea and a hint of tobacco on the palate. Full bodied with grippy tannins and a medium finish. I am not suggesting this was a lesser wine than the Mayacamas, just a different profile. The Fantesca is more fruit focused, whereas the Mayacamas had an additional earthy component in addition to the fruit. |

4/30/2024 - tadams66 Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis was very nice when opened. Nice big dark fruit with dark cherries and currant. Not as complex or finish I would expect for the $$. I WOULD NOT decant this for long. It faded somewhat fast so I think this is on a fast decline. Drink up. |

3/25/2024 - GlenviewGSW Likes this wine: 92 pointsAn enjoyable Pinot if not a little big for the varietal as this is more fruit driven than terroir driven and doesn’t necessarily have the elegance and nuances you like in PN - however that said it still was very well balanced and enjoyable. |

2/28/2024 - gjv115 Likes this wine: NROpened thin. Thin short finish. Over time it developed a little more mouthfeel and a pleasant briny character. After 3 hours it began to develop a little chocolate character, especially on the finish. Needs some air or age. I'd vote more air over more age but not sure. |

1/20/2024 - Porter0209 Likes this wine: 98 pointsFantastic. Blackberry and plum notes up front followed by oak and vanilla on the finish. Tannin profile present but balanced. A bold wine with a measured fruit profile that compliments it perfectly |

5/24/2008 - rikipedia Likes this wine: 91 pointsLWTF - Napa Tasting (London): (Brief notes & thoughts from Walkaround Tasting): This has more restraint on the nose yet retains that classic California exotic fruit. The palate is rich, with a layer of ripe, thicker stone fruits but it struggles to conjure up refinement, although I did pick up some minerality with some lemon and grapefruit to give freshness, which helped the wine along and the finish was long. It grew on me and so marked it up! |

12/25/2023 - BuckeyeBob86 Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis one is outstanding. Wonderful Pinot Noir. We opened up an hour before dinner and it continues to evolve. Beautiful Ruby color. Aromas of dark fruit, leather and dried spices with flavors of cherry, plums and baking spice. As it opened up, the fruit flavors expanded. Perfect wine for our Christmas celebration. |

11/25/2023 - travelme Likes this wine: 91 pointsWCONNOLLY and FFZHANG nailed the notes on these. Mine was a 750 and the nose and color were magnificent. I got blueberry and integrated tannins on a wine that was nicely balanced. Great QPR for what I paid and I enjoyed the bottle. My lone critique was that it lacked a little on the finish (taste profile was clipped) got better with air. Revisited at several times over about a five hour time frame. Saved a little for tomorrow to try again. Can’t remember when Heidi started (thought it was 2007) so not sure who made this wine. All in all a good wine made by a high quality producer. I will try my 2007 next! |

11/7/2023 - napasoutherner Likes this wine: 95 pointsmildly Bordeaux driven texture and nose. Lots of gravel, forest floor and cigar notes. Not as powerful as the 2013 H. Acre Kayli M but had more of an elegant rounded and softer side to this wine. Medium finish. Beautiful wine. |
