Definitely has the roasted/stewed fruit and funk character of many southern French reds. Medium body, moderate tannins in the finish, medium acid. Some sulfur notes on opening, but that mostly blows off. Dark berry, plum, some cassis, earthiness, low level of spice. At $13, it's a good value that's food friendly. Not terribly complex, but interesting enough to have another glass and worth a rebuy. |
