10/6/2021 - ddamron wrote: 100 pointsA beautiful day calls for an amazing flight of white wines. The 2012 Marcassin Chardonnay is perfection. Lemon, pear, yellow apple, mango and honeysuckle on a bed of limestone that coats the mid palate with a viscosity that’s refreshing sweet but not cloying. American Montrachet. -DD100. |

2015 Château Troplong MondotSt. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend more |
10/6/2021 - ddamron wrote: 99 pointsFun Saturday relaxing at Domaine Damron with a bonfire, S’mores, chili, and homegrown watermelon! The only one of the season 😂. Our neighbors brought over a treat in the 2015 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion. This merlot dominant bordeaux paired well with the spice in the chili and was completely accessible after a two hour decant. Black cherry, strawberry, and creme de cassis notes with forest floor and graphite sitting on the palate doing measured yoga moves in a tightly coiled structure. Wow, this wine is impressive. The alcohol integrates nicely in the wine with somewhat chewy tannins. Loved this wine so much I bought some before writing this note. Will try another in five years. -DD99

2/13/2021 - Francois Le Mouel Likes this wine: 96 pointsInsane nose - Bursting aromas of antiplhogistine A535 (in a very positive way, LOL), pink peppermint, cassis and tar - in other words it's smells like a lovely Grandma:). High acidity, high and refined tannins and really long finish.

But I've generally loved Broken Stones in the past and the other CT reviews are raves, so it's probably just me.

3/19/2016 - pakabear Likes this wine: 94 pointsDrinks well for a young Saxum, great mouthfeel as usually from this producer. Dark red fruits, strawberry and lingering oak throughout. It's very very good but not all that complex. I don't expect this to get much better, decanted for 2-3 hours and enjoyed over the next 4.
