this is a good wine - its just that it did NOT meet our expectations when we paired it with spaghetti Bolognese; the Bolognese was made from scratch and cooked in a slow cooker for seven hours!!! -it was delectably sublime - what a flavor - what a dish!!! - while the wine was a bit astringent and underwhelming... the sangiovese grape is a very good pairing with this recipe - and we thought this Brunello will be a great match....it was not... the Bolognese is divine....

5/4/2020 12:04:00 PM - Yes - thank you for the correction - i meant it did NOT meet our expectations.

we usually will have a good reserve Chianti with Italian meals - especially with red sauce meats - a Brunello is a good step step up - u just need to find a good Brunello and this one just did not make the grade - in our opinion; perhaps we'll try a super Tuscan next....

served with loin veal chop with a whole grain mustard scallion sauce; the veal was superb - the wine was rather tepid and unfocused; while a burgundy is still the recommended choice - a wine with more flavor and depth is required for this dish...

6/30/2013 11:15:00 AM - we opened it, let it air for a while - kept it cool - and decanted it - and still it was underwhelmimg - you were fortunate to have it while it was in its prime; appears to me that it should be drunk sooner than later....
