Yama Yama!!! So expressive!! Black cherries, coffee, but like really intense coffee, not bitter though, clove, bell pepper, dried orange peel, all spice and a nice hand job! Really delicious wine.

I really wish that I discovered Chinon and Raffaukt 30 years ago, so that I could see if great wines from Olga in 79, 85, 88, 90 all were so delixous when young

Somewhat confounding and what used to drive people crazy about burgundy. This wine is clearly not over the bill, but the aromas and all deep autumnal. Florets floor, mushrooms, Fruitcake dominate a cranberry undercurrent. There is still acidity and sweetness present, which tells me that this wine is in that state of confusion that only Pinot can offer.

    11/14/2022 4:01:00 PM - As suspected, this wine is showing the amazing quality of this estate. The fruit is a merging after being open for 50 hrs. What!!!!!???? Yes, who pops and holds for 50 hours? Not me. I only have a glass and a half left. Cranberries and strawberries are emerging and the dirty stank is abiding. Orange peel and vanilla have replaced the mushrooms and heavy forest. I really feel that the majesty of winemakers like Michel Ampeau will soon be a thing of the past. The irony is that it is they who created the romance of Pinot, which has not necessarily been picked up by the current generation of vigneron in burgundy.

This is not my favorite mouton now or in its younger days. I have enjoyed more concentrated Moutons from lesser vintages. Bright, youthful ruby red color, mushrooms, graphite, cedar dominate currenty fruit. More of an elegant, feminine wine as opposed to the powerhouse Mouton usually is.

Mature, deep gold color. Baked apple, marzapan, figs, nuts and vanilla custard dominate. Candied, dried citrus and pineapple also present. I am dumbfounded by these wines. I have had some of the most marvelous bottles of Chardonnay from this estate, just compelling, and then I have wines suffering from premox and accerated aging. Ugh!!!

This was one of those Garagiste "fliers" ("it tastes great and already has 10+ years on it for a $ong... what do you have to lose?"). Some times those work out and other times, not so much. This is one of those times it worked out! Big rounded palate, great mouth feel, reminded me of a white CNDp or a white Hermitage, only not quite. But close. Nice wine. Wish I had bought more!
