8/21/2023 - Purple Tooth wrote: 91 pointsI think that this is pointing downward...Probably about 5 years too late on this one, but you can tell that this was quite substantial and well made for an 11 Napa. It was disjointed with very little perfume, giving you mature red fruit and big dabs of oak and some alcohol domination as the result of the receding fruit and loss of balance. Drink SOON! DRINK |

This wine is the poster child of the "exciting yet tight, then completely closed, then wonderful" track of young cabernet type wines. While this wine had great fruit flavors and good oak, it was like a choir singing alightly out of tune. Just out of balance enough to grate on you. The mid palate was also just a little thin to me although it could have been the alcohol playing with me. I think 3-5 years will be kind to this wine 93 |

5/25/2023 - gamlingman Likes this wine: 93 pointsNo idea what to expect here but it definitely exceeded my expectations. Beautiful nose up bright fruits upon initial opening. First taste lends itself to a tightly wound wine with huge spice and subtle sweetness. About an hour after decanting, it rounded out to rich strawberry while finishing with mild tannins. It was perfect with my grilled veal chop last night. Very solid California Cabernet that is drinking perfectly right now. |

5/2/2023 - Rick 4 Wine Likes this wine: 92 pointsNice bottle that does much better with some air. I slow oxed and that was a mistake. That gorgeous Diamond mountain terroir didn’t show up until half the bottle was gone (~90 minutes) |

4/13/2023 - Canoehead Likes this wine: 95 pointsRecommended by the sommelier @ Brennan’s in place of a Shafer 1.5 no longer available. This was all leather and dark chocolate upon opening and after a 30 min decant it evolved into a powerful but elegant Cab with everything in balance. Continued to open up throughout the meal and paired well with tableside steak Diane and seared duck breast. Great value. |

2/1/2023 - Purple Tooth wrote: 94 pointsThis is reliable california cabernet made in an exotic style, with rich, well timed fruit and a perfectly selected wood treatment for the target. The finish is long and sandy and showcases the balance of the wine, while allowing the fruit to shine. Its really interesting to taste these wines and see how a good winemaker can group darts around a bullseye by tweaking post harvest aspects to accommodate the fruit quality from vintage to vintage. This is the kind of Cabernet that I crave when the weather gets cold and the nights get long. Just delicious and right...Drink but no rush yet. This should hold here and maybe even improve depending on your idea of where the bullseye is for a wine from California. |

1/13/2023 - Rick 4 Wine Likes this wine: 94 pointsGreat Diamond Mountain wine; needs some air to shift the fruit from a tighter red to a more open purple fruit. DM terroir unfolds after thirty minutes and cigsr box starts to show up. Solid wine especially for the price. |

12/17/2022 - PMJak11 wrote: 92 points1hr+ decant and probably needed more. Dark red color with purple hues. Chewy wine with big fruit, but way too much alcohol. Bottle says 15.7% but tasted like more. Maybe it needs more age but could have been great if it wasn’t so liquor like. |
