A very nice wine, with lots of ripe fruit (cherry). Very well balanced, although maybe a bit short on the finish.

Peaches and apricot with vaguely floral notes; obvious sugar on the palate with decent acidity to back it up, but not enough structure to carry the finish, which is short and a little cloying. It actually went well with apple crisp & caramel ice cream, better than on its own.

Like this one a lot. Smokey, toasty nose that also displays heyball, meaty and nutty aromas. Tastes of black olives, ground pepper, black berries, and currants are supported by lively acidity and lush, velvety fruit. Quite tannic still, which is most apparent on the long finish. Certainly will last for years to come, but is already drinkable with 30 minutes aeration. At $20 a great deal.

Chef's Dinner at Joe Grabow's (Sammamish, WA, USA): From 375ml. Late harvest wine with 16% RS and 12% alcohol. The nose shows textbook notes of lychee, yummy! Whoa, the palate shows a spicy note of white pepper and some crazy perfume. This is awfully heavy and viscous stuff but it manages to stay pretty interesting.

Seattle Tasting Group does 'BBQ Reds' (Issaquah, WA, USA): The nose smells of overripe, almost rotten peach. The palate is klunky, syrupy and sweet. No thanks.

Deep, dark, plummy red in the glass. Beautiful nose of black currant, dark berries, a touch of cedar wood. On the palate, tobacco, coffee, and leather abound alongside the fruit. The finish is long and wonderful. This wine shows some strong tannins and will age beautifully, but needs another 2 years to give the tannins some time to integrate. The closest thing to a Bordeaux I've had from the US and a great wine for $16.
