By the glass. Similar blend as ordinary white. Mixture of white and pink clairette grapes with a minority percentage of ugni blanc, the same grape used in the production of great Armagnacs and cognacs. Smoked buttery aromas accompany other much fainter floral notes. On the palate it is fresh, elegant and fruity on the medium palate. Silky texture with an almost sweet finish. Not bad at all.

Similar mezcla que en el vlanco mas ordinario de uvas clairette blancas y rosas con un porcentaje minoritario de ugni blanc, la misma uva empleada en la elaboración de los grandes Armagnacs y cognacs. Aromas mantecosos ahumados acompañan a otras mucho más débiles notas florales. En boca se muestra fresco, elegante y afrutado en el paladar medio.
Textura sedosa con un final casi dulce. No está nada mal.

In the mouth this Cuvée presents a greater density and opulence, nuanced by a rich acidity. Quince skin finish. Interesting depth. Elegant even.

Por copas. 40 % de clairette blanc, 40 % de clairette rose y un 20 % d'ugni blanc. En nariz se muestra floral (fácilmente violetas) y cítricos (quizás pomelo amarillo). En boca presenta en esta Cuvée una mayor densidad y opulencia, matizada por una rica acidez. Final de piel de membrillo. Interesante profundidad. Elegante incluso.

By the glass. Blended wine of four red varieties: grenache, mourvèdre, cinsault and syrah. On the nose there are hints of Calanda peaches, ripe cherries, redcurrants, sweet licorice or floral notes. Nice complexity. On the palate it is a soft rosé wine, where care, amplitude and finesse are detected. Balanced wine where acidity stands out and gives persistence. Inconsequential finish and spicy aftertaste.

Por copas. Vino de mezcla de cuatro variedades tintas: garnacha, monastrell, cinsault y syrah. En nariz aparecen recuerdos a melocotones de Calanda, cerezas maduras, grosellas rojas, regaliz dulce o notas florales. En boca es un vino rosado suave, donde se detecta el cuidado, la amplitud y la finura. Vino equilibrado donde la acidez sobresale y otorga persistencia. Final intrascendente y retrogusto especiado.

A blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsaut and Syrah. Made with the portion that is bled off from the Bonnaud red wines. Fermented and aged for 8 months in barriques. 14% alcohol.

Pale, rather neutral and quite colorless peach-to-onion skin color. The nose feels sweet, clean and youthful with quite fruity aromas of ripe apples, some nectarine tones, a little bit of zesty citrus fruits, light creamy notes of oak and a hint of wild strawberry. The wine feels youthful, quite ripe and somewhat concentrated on the palate with a full body and fruit-driven, slightly sweet-toned and a bit restrained flavors of peachy stone fruits and ripe Golden Delicious apples, some creamy notes of oak, light strawberry nuances and a hint of exotic fruit. The overall feel is quite big and voluminous, but the high acidity keeps the overall feel fresh and focused. The finish is juicy, ripe and slightly sweet-toned with a moderately long aftertaste of strawberries and apple jam, some peachy tones, a little bit of fresh cherry, light smoky nuances and a hint of creamy oak. The high alcohol makes the wine end on a slightly warm note.

A rich and balanced but also quite young and surprisingly big rosé. Aromatically this wine was quite like a typical Provençal rosé, only with subtly oaky overtones and an unusually big, concentrated body. In essence, this was like a Provençal rosé on steroids - you just don't get Provençal rosés with this much body and concentration. Unfortunately this wine suffered a bit from being served right after another Palette rosé - 2012 Simone Rosé - that was on a completely different level in complexity. On its own this is a lovely and quite impressive rosé that is still surprisingly youthful for its age at almost 6 years of age - and I think that the wine could really benefit from additional aging. Nice stuff, priced somewhat according to its quality at 29€.

At plage goéland in Cannes, I know the producer so taking this one for lunch. Deep purple - ruby color. Olives, garrigue, sweet black cherries, vanilla on the nose. Med acidity, full body, high alcohol, med flavor intensity, med body, dry tannins and med finish. Warm mouth (the alcohol is well above 15 degrees), olives, Mediterranean herbs, sweetness, spices, vanilla, a touch of green capsicum, and a bit of lingering salinity. Perfectly drinking now and great QPR.

Pale onion peel color. Citrus-driven nose of watermelon, strawberry and grapefruit. On the palate rich and voluminous but with relatively timid flavors. There is weight and warmth here, otherwise this is more what one would expect from a youngish Provencal rosé. Very young and relatively restrained at this moment.

Perfect Provincial Rose, drinking amazing with a year of bottle age. Floral, crisp, complex, honeysuckle. Paired perfectly with a meal of spicy Malaysian stir fried noodles and left over pizza.

A blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsaut. The grapes are only crushed, not pressed. Fermented in stainless steel, aged for 8 months in tanks (80%) and barriques (20%). 13,5% alcohol. Tasted blind.

Moderately pale to medium-deep salmon pink color with a peachy-orange rim. The nose feels quite ripe yet at the fresh and zippy at the same time with a little bit of reductive gunpowder smoke, followed by notes of red apple, some fresh white fruit, a little bit of stony minerality, light creamy nuances and a hint of cantaloupe. The wine feels ripe and moderately full-bodied on the palate, but wonderfully firm and acid-driven as well. The overall feel is fresh and harmonious with bright flavors of wild strawberries, some white peach and ripe apricot, a little bit of stony minerality, light creamy tones, a hint of perfumed floral character and a reductive touch of gunpowder smoke. The high acidity lends great sense of intensity and structure to the wine. The finish is bright, zippy and juicy with rather ripe yet dry flavors of fresh white fruits, some creamy oak, a little bit of fresh apple, light smoky notes of reduction, a hint of wild strawberry and a touch of cantaloupe.

A beautiful, harmonious and tasty rosé that had a somewhat Provençal feel to it, yet managing to come across as a bit more substantial and concentrated than a typical Provence rosé would, yet showing remarkable freshness and precision for its ripeness. Based on the smoky tones and subtly creamy nuances suggesting oak aging, I guessed this was a Clos Cibonne rosé - as Cibonne wines can be somewhat reductive at times - but instead the other wine of the two we tasted in this flight turned out to be a Clos Cibonne rosé, whereas this first wine came from the neighboring appellation of Palette. All in all, this wine managed to surprise me positively - this wasn't even Bonnaud's flagship rosé, yet this was among one of the best wines we had in our rosé tasting, showing great sense of depth, structure and harmony. It was also noteworthy how seemingly young the wine was at almost 6 years of age - it's possible this wine will not only keep, but also evolve further with additional aging. A gorgeous example of Palette rosé.

Le 37, Alpe d'Huez. PnP. Elegant and classical, red fruit with a hint of tertiary notes, fresh, medium+ bodied and length. Very approachable now, but with still some additional potential, drink now or within the next 8 to10 years. 91+.

Btl 1 of 1, sadly. This was a very pleasant surprise, hence the note. Nuanced and poised with lots of pedigree. Quite pricey, at least from where I got it at around 30€, but it seems worth it. Long and balanced high-end Provence-rosé. Something special I would say (91-92 pts).

Classique, trop classique pour mon gout, du fruit du soleil, et même si la texture offre des tanins assez polis, je l’ai trouvé assez fatigant, sans relief, flanqué du caractère provençal des rouges chaleureux.
