I didn't take too many notes when trying this, as it was opened for a pizza night, but I remember dark fruit, some bitter chocolate, smoke and tobacco. Well worth it for the price of a bottle. Drink now or within two, three years. |

8/29/2020 - AuldAlliance1947 Likes this wine: NRClassic Cotes du Rhone - an honest wine as it should be at the price of £9 in 2018. There should always be a place for such a wine in any cellar. |

3/21/2018 - jonahfactor Likes this wine: NROur last bottle of this workhorse that has graced many a weeknight dinner table. On its last gasp, with the fruit having dropped out completely and some minor tertiary notes left, mostly iodine, charcoal ash and muted chocolate. In its day one of our best $7 wines ever. |

11/13/2017 - jonahfactor Likes this wine: NRWorking through my last few bottles after what was a multi-case purchase several years ago. Has served admirably as a weeknight pop ‘n pour. Although getting a little long in the tooth, this is still holding its own. Pretty amazing for such a humble $7 CdR. Bacon fat and crushed black pepper joined by faint echoes of plum and blackberry. Some heat in the finish. Time to drink up. |

Fat and round in the mouth with a balanced, un-aggressive firm tannin. Pepper and stone in the finish. Good daily drinker to fill the Rhone slot |

1/12/2016 - stevenrcagle Likes this wine: 90 pointsColor is maroonish-red. Nose is light and fruity. Very pleasant with rose petals, strawberries, and licorice. Clearly opens up after some time in the decanter. Light-Medium bodied. Nice fruit, followed by a dry finish. Initially it was short as the other reviewers noted, however, after an hour it came together and finished much stronger. Be patient with this one - it needs some time to open up. Very well developed at this point and probably at peak with 1 - 2 years remaining. |
