2/19/2024 - honest bob wrote: 90 pointsFrom 75cl, DIAM5 closure, decanted 2 hours, best at about 16C, blowsy at 21C room temperature. This still juicy, primary, muscular, in-your-face, and a lot of fun. Those looking for subtle nuance will look elsewehere, and pay for it. We had a good time, but perhaps not quite as much fun as I remember from first impressions back in 2022. Braver people than me might wait (and quite possibly be rewarded), but I intend to drink up. 89-90P |

1/19/2024 - philmtl Likes this wine: NRI wasn’t expecting much from this. It’s red-fruited with a distict veal stock / meatiness taking over. The palate is fresh, vibrant with plenty of acidity and some depth from the ripe red berries. Very Côte de Beaune and very enjoyable. Nice. |

11/30/2023 - philmtl Likes this wine: NRThis is a good bottle of Burgundy. The nose is black and red berries, some damp earth that’s starting to appear and some slight torrefied notes on the end of it. The palate is nicely balanced with bright acidity and a good mouthful of fine but structured tannins. Great food wine to tame those tannins. I like it. |

7/9/2023 - philmtl Does not like this wine: NRPrimary on the nose. Red berries on the palate, short, simple, no length. I was surprised it was this thin on a 2015. |

4/23/2023 - Harley1199 Likes this wine: NRBy the glass. Aristocratic aromas of lemon cake with toasted meringue, sweet spices and banana cookies too. Rich complexity. On the palate it is shown as a balanced wine, certainly opulent, with a good initial attack and a delicious, deep finish. How easy it is for some to forget that the Côte d'Or ends precisely in these three villages of the Maranges! Unanimous praise for this bottle. |

2/15/2023 - dhitchins Likes this wine: 89 pointsDespite being a 24 year old vintage at time of tasting this was still a clean and fresh classic Pinot Noir. Plenty of fruit notes, good acidity/tanning balance. A fair amount of crystalized sediment made the last drop a bit "crunchy". Bottle was cellar stored for 20 years at a pretty constant 13-14 Celsius. Tasted with a group of 20 from a wine club and all opinions were all very positive. |

As previously noted, this is thrilling, primary stuff. Given the maker‘s modest expectations for this luscious wine’s longevity (the clue is the“5“ in „DIAM5“) I intend to drink a bottle a year, but may well end up scoffing all by the end of 2023-this is that juicy and irresistible. 91-92P |

9/15/2022 - honest bob wrote: 90 pointsFrench road trip, mainly Rhône valley; 9/4/2022-9/18/2022: From open 75cl in a restaurant in Nuits-St.-Georges. Superconcentrated, exuberant cassis, roasted meats and eucalyptus scent; juicy brightly acidic blackcurrrant entry (can this be Pinot Noir? It's so concentrated, forward and, frankly, Syrah-like); primary and a bit raw on the mid-palate. Just when I thought that red Burgundy was dead for non-millionaires, along comes a wine like this to wipe all prejudices clean away. High-energy, high-octane excitement. Read the lips of someone who usually complains about the French drinking their fine wines much too early: this is one to drink now, or soon, for maximum thrills. 90P |
