3/10/2024 - leachriscellar Likes this wine: 89 pointsBig cab Franc nose of green pepper and spice. Lovely violet color. Layers of plum, currant, and spice flavors. Long finish. Definitely went better with the grilled steak than a pasta dish. |

7/24/2023 - bestdamncab Likes this wine: 89 pointsNose of blackberry, raspberry, cigar box, and saddle leather, same on the palate, medium/big body, tasty, needs 3 years to peak, savory, with small amount of soft tannins on the medium/long finish. |

Hefty, bright notes of ripe boysenberry compote, currant jelly and a tinge of sweet new leather fill the senses with the first sip. As this opens up, it turns into a real mouth pleasing wine--it may even induce "swishing" to get it to every corner of the palate. The crowd-pleaser shows soft tannins and lightly torched oak and a touch of tobacco. The fig jam finish lingers just enough. A lovely, deeply satisfying wine." |

Worked as a base for sauce, but the sip I had to make sure it’s ok told me it’s not really my thing. Dinner had cristal and chappellett Pritchard hill as pairing for surf/turf. Those were better. |

10/16/2022 - cabsrgreat Likes this wine: 88 pointsPnP. Better than the 2018’s at this stage. Still cherry but not as sour. Smoot tannins. Longer finish than would be expected from a $15 Sonoma. Maybe not as good as the 2017, but close! |

7/26/2022 - ChateauShiny wrote: 88 pointsNot a detailed TN. Juicy and some R/S (probably around that 4-6g/l range). Has that spot on Sonoma cab profile of plums and dark cherries. Tannins have a bit of a grip. A bit of pencil shavings on the finish, but is lacking nuance. Paired perfectly with a rare home cooked sirloin steak finished with Irish butter. This was the right wine for dinner tonight. |

7/8/2022 - ChateauShiny Likes this wine: 89 pointsDecanted for around an hour. Deep ruby in color. Maraschino cherries, licorice, and assorted black fruits on the nose. Heavy bodied, medium acidity, and herbal. Palate starts off with leather, dark black cherries, blackberries. It then turns quickly herbal with thyme and licorice. Medium tannins bring in cocoa. Finish is hot and continues down the same profile with a bit of graphite added. |
