It has that cured meat component and cracked black pepper. Alcohol heat dissipated with time in the glass. Evolving from primary fruit. Ripe black cherry and black liquorice after some airtime. Medium plus finish. This should smooth out a little more. The refreshing acidity keeps the wine quenchable. I’d decant future bottles for one hour minimum. |

Dark ruby in colour with a definite garnet hue and lovely aromas of slightly herbal sweet black fruit with leather & liquorice. On the palate, full bodied juicy black fruit, blackberry/cassis/black cherry, dried fruit, liquorice & chocolate, herbal, well integrated oak, medium acidity, high soft tannins with a long finish to juicy black berries & leather. Excellent aging flavours & still some cellar life available, but drinking superbly now! |

9/25/2023 - Cellar3 Likes this wine: 93 pointsThis wine was a special treat. It has wonderful stonefruit flavours along with cassis. Unlike other Syrahs aged in oak, this wine losses all of the flavours that come with oak; which to my surprise, brings forward more fruit flavours without being overly jammy or tart. Alternatively, it has subtle flavors of clay and flint. Amazing! |

Plums and cherry with red licorice aromas. Similar palate with slight alcohol coming through with sour cherry and cloves. Impressive for a decade in at this price point. Have a couple of cases at the winery if interested |
