11/6/2022 - Yellofeath Likes this wine: 90 pointsDeep burgundy, with a sweet cranberry spice nose. Palate starts with lots of sweet- tart cranberry first glass. I may have even gotten a little pucker! Medium tannins balance it nicely. But give it a little decant and this quickly fills the middle with lip smacking plumb, blackberry and baking spice after some air. The finish evolves rightly from a little herbaceous spice that gives way to earthen bramble and lingers only a moment or two. This may be the only thing that brings this very interesting, and constantly evolving, bottle down. With enough bright acidity, this cut through and went great, with a greasy cheeseburger. |

Quintessentially Tuscan nose of black fruit, pine, black pepper, a bit of ammonia. On the palate, black plum, currant, a bit of wild strawberry. Medium finish runs quite bitter, tannins aren't going to resolve too much further. Too old world and musty to be a crowd pleaser, just a little light on finesse to really please the geeks, but very good all the same. Would like to try other vintages. |
