Brick fading to crimson then rose. Rim variation consistent with age. A few bubbles on Day 1. Medium plus legs. Very good clarity Day 1; by Day 2, light sediment apparent. Aromas are a mix of black and red fruit dominant: black currant, raspberry, cranberry, cherry. Also noted are prune, light toast. On the palate, red fruits more prominent and black olive, eucalyptus emerge. No smoke noted.Medium to full body, medium plus finish, medium minus acidity. Texture is polished and smooth. Impression: varietally correct, balanced, and complex. At $34 with tasting room purchase, QPR is average. Drink now or next year.

It can't decide if it's a tawny or a Ruby. Disappointing

Had a glass at Paso Robles Inn on August 23, 2017. Amazing flavors with medium legs and very smooth. Very rich nose. Only question is, "Where can I buy more?" Paso Robles Inn has one bottle left -- and they ain't selling!

Purple to inky, despite being vertical for 48 hours before opening. Medium to slow legs. Aromas and flavors: think black. Blackberry, black currant, prune, raisins, black cherry. These were complimented by understated aromas that seem to evolve in layered/linear fashion: medium toast, coffee, chocolate, soy sauce and vanilla. Linear and polished texture. Body and finish medium; acidity low to medium. At $22, QPR is average. Because of its complexity, I believe it is a good value Paso Cab. Purchased at the winery in 2011. It seems we made a good choice. Drink now or in 2018.

I was pleasantly surprised by this bottle. Rich and mouthfilling but not heavy in any way, with the spiced blackberry pie notes I expected, and none of the telltale Paso "bug spray" aromas that I hate.
Must consume our remaining 2 bottles soon.

Pleasant mid weight red with a nice mellow flavor profile and adequate acidity. Nothing very complex here, just a nice mid-week drink with carbonnade a la flamande

Unusually light for a Paso Zin. Smoky, a bit tart, good with food but not particularly interesting to drink.

Not as funky as the winery led us to believe, but it was heavy with tobacco and reminiscent of my grandparents' house... odd indeed. Strangely enough this 'lasted' a few days after opened. Drank approx. 1 glass total.

I actually liked this better than the Le Cuvier '01 Syrah that we had alongside this. This wine had a better level of acidity but a similar style of layered and ripe complexity. Less extracted than the Cuvier and to me, more food friendly.

Excellent wine for the asking price. Lots of Sediment so give it a good decant. Really opens up after a few minutes and is a great example of Syrah that has not seen new oak. Chocolate cherries, tobacco/cigar

Opening night, what else you gonna drink? Giants played like this tastes -- not bad, but not especially good either; restrained in style and price for a Paso red, which means it's only half as bad as most and only 50% over-priced. Ready. Soft but not too fleshy, slight black fruit on the palate. Would be great in sangria.

Energentic and admirable effort for this Paso Robles aged Zin. A house favorite at Rio Seco
for many years, hats off to Tom and his crew for a real snappy, compelling wine. Slow to
come around, but after a few hours developed a warm nose of red fruit and underbrush.
Weaves together firm, tannic structure with dried cherry and red licorice. The second
night, raspberry jam and juicy pomegranite provided a robust, expressive aspect to
this well made red. Considerable fruit representation still exihists, but the finish is
just a bit short. This has held up extraordinarily for an 11 year old Zin from this
region. Drink now.
