My guess is somewhere around 8-15g/L of residual sugar but the acidity keeps this in check. Good fruit, showing peaches, apples and some lime and lime zest. Gives it a touch of bitterness on the finish before the off-dry kicks in. Nice minerality running throughout. Not overly complex, but a tasty wine. |

Lovely mature, new world, Bordeaux blend nose! Savoury plum, graphite, blackberry and a touch of black currant and leather on the nose. Medium bodied, very smooth, still lots of fruit extract, fully integrated tannins and balancing alcohol and acidity. Lots of fully ripe, dark black fruits on the palate, mostly blackberry and plum, graphite, some chalky minerals, and even some black currant on the back palate. Finishes perfectly dry with sweet dark fruit replays and an impression of black tea which is all that remains of the tannins. Super impressive for a nearly 17 yo mid level Ontario red!! |

Fresh, young nose of boysenberry, blackberry, toasted oak, dried herbs a touch of soy sauce and some black currant leaf. Not yeasty; just young. Medium-full bodied, crunchy fruit, elevated acid, fine sandy tannins and a squeeky finish that is quite dry. Palate mostly follows the nose. A little light on the fruit extract that feels a tad hollow at the front end, but it fills out on the back end to compensate. Needs time to knit. Well made and a good short term cellar candidate. Drink over the next five years or so. |

This seems to have aged pretty nicely with lots of acidity, but the fruit is on the sour side: sour cherry, sour cranberry, sour raspberry but it lacks any kind of real punchy fruit. There's leather and smoke with some herbaceous notes and the alcohol is about 13.1%. Not my favorite bottle from this winery - I finished it trying to figure it out so that must mean something. I would say it's definitely a drink now wine don't hold it any longer, but also don't expect it to be a wow wine. |

Full ruby red with bricking at the rim. The nose was a bit funky at first, but that blew off to reveal bell pepper, pencil shavings, dried red and black fruit, and maybe some new leather. Very soft in the mouth, nice weight, not at all overdone, very dry, proper acidity and alcohol, no trace of tannin. Flavours of dried red and black fruits, pencil shavings, heavy on the graphite, intriguing astringency and a long, dry finish. Went nicely with BBQ rack of lamb and grilled mixed root veg. |

Developes a bit of a dusty plum skin note over time. Medium-full bodied, huge ripe fruit extract good acidity, fine tannins and slightly elevated alcohol, and overall quite rich. Tastes riper than is smells. Gobs of black fruit, leather, ink and bittersweet chocolate with just a hint of bitterness on the dry finish. No green notes to speak of. Quite smooth. Long, fruity, grippy finish. Quality juice but a bit unbalanced. Possibly a bit over extracted? I was initially thinking more of it but ended up with a 91 points. |
