5/11/2022 - studleytrey Likes this wine: 91 pointsI believe this wine was from an Argentine wine club we were in many years ago, and it's moved with us a few times now—at 19 years old, I wasn't surprised by the amount of sediment nor the cork breaking (even using the ah-so), but didn't have particularly high expectations at this point. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised with what's in my glass. |

12/21/2017 - DSmol Likes this wine: 92 pointsMedium-full bodied, red with some bricking, intriguing aromas of earth, baking spice and subtle citrus overtones. Well-integrated, easy drinking, with a very very long, velvety finish. Dark sweet fruit, but lots of acidity to keep it tasting fresh. Far exceeded expectations. Drink now. |

3/22/2014 - GimpyBoy wrote: 91 pointsDeep ruby red, almost brick, colour. Wonderful aromas of plumb and blackberry. The wine coats the mouth with ripe berry flavours and rich fig undertones. There is a hint of spice, chocolate and vanilla notes. The wine is well balanced with just right amount of tannins. It took the wine some time to open up after decanting. Finnish is long and smooth. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. |

6/18/2013 - WineGuyFL Likes this wine: 92 pointsLast bottle. One of the best values in my cellar. Every bottle has been superb. Deep and dark color. Dark berries dominate the taste. Has a "classic" Malbec style.....which I cannot easily put into words. Still youngish.....not tiring at all. Could imrove with time, but no reason to wait. A lot happens when first sipped, then a long finish. I need to find some more of this one from a subsequent vintage. |

On the nose I get loads of dark chocolate and a little band aid with tons of ripe prunes and plums and black cherry. On the palate there is great ripe plum and cherry fruit with more chocolate and a spicy oakiness on the back end. The tannins are substantial and so is the mouthfeel. This wine is absolutely spectacular!!! Fruity and tannic and spicy and chocolately and amazing! |
