3/29/2024 - J'agnes Likes this wine: 90 pointsGlad the wax capsule has been dropped for a capsule free cork - big sustainability tick from me and perfectly acceptable for a wine made for relatively early drinking. Nice inky purple in colour. Nose slightly vegetal but otherwise muted. Tremendous palate - juicy fresh black fruit with nice soft tannins. Long finish. Very impressive wine and a big big improvement on the previous vintage. Bravo. |

7/15/2023 - SimonG wrote: 85 pointsBright dense ruby to mid cherry. Lovely fresh light gamey fruit without any of the extra weight that seems to have become habituated in modern Beaujolais. Simple, uncomplicated drinking and ideal at cellar temperature with a croque madame; vin de Soif and hugely enjoyable. In absolute terms **1/2, but four star enjoyment in the context. |

4/21/2023 - SimonG wrote: 84 pointsXavier Gerard and Will Arnold (Noizé, London): Lighter. A fair dose of reduction. Lighter fruited. Lighter on the palate too. A sense of red fruit. Reduction prominent and currently masking the profile. Needs a shake, and chilling currently. ** |

3/22/2023 - SimonG wrote: 87 pointsDeep and dense cherry red. Dark red fruit and cracked pepper nose. Good energy. Nicely peppery with a slight carbonic sense to the fruit. Benefits from some air - a good sausage wine in evening one, mellowing to a vin de soif style drink ability on its own the next evening. Fun and engaging, with some depth. *** |

5/13/2021 - SimonG wrote: 88 pointsPurple-tinged ruby. White pepper, raspberry and mulberry in the dark red fruit profile. Mid weight, similar dark red fruit on the attack. Good structure, velvety plush fruit and a lovely bright acidity. Savoury and really quite complex for what it is with a transparent and unconfected feel. Some depth here. Holds effortlessly overnight and clearly merits a year or two of slumber. Impressive debut. *** |
