2/22/2024 - klezman wrote: NRMore than 6 years since my previous bottle of this, but this is still doing very well, evolving slowly. The fruit is definitely more faded but still present. The truffle and savoury notes are a bit more in front. It needed a bit of air to really come into its own, too. |

2/2/2024 - SawgrassSteve Likes this wine: 94 pointsThey say, good things come to those who wait. I've waited since April 2016 when I purchased this bottle from Woot.wine, boy do I miss those days! Clark Smith regularly offered up his wines with CrAzY discounts. This was one of those purchases. I see it sells for over $250 currently, WOW?! 2 people found this helpful, do you? 1/29/2024 - SawgrassSteve Likes this wine: 92 pointsHere we are a year later, last bottle in the cellar! My, oh my, it does not disappoint. So glad I hung on to this wine until now. Kudos to Clark Smith for building a wine with depth and personality. The wine has a beautiful nose of dark berries and smoke. Perfect acidity and as before, demonstrates a CDP quality not so fruit forward as many California Cabernets. If you have a bottle, do yourself a favor and allow a decant of at least an hour. When I pull from my cellar 55F is too cool for this wine. Allowing the wine to come to room temp brings out its full flavor profile. |

11/26/2023 - SawgrassSteve Likes this wine: 91 pointsIt's Cab Franc!! Nose is still full of fruit, boysenberry dominant, some blueberry. The taste is muted but this is still drinking well my friends. I cherish these last few bottles and enjoy every one. Cheers Clark Smith! Nice balance, smooth drinker, medium acidity and finish. By the way, the oak has vanished IMHO. |

10/17/2023 - YuriyG Likes this wine: 90 pointsFull bodied, lots of flavor, a bit fleshy and not as fruity as it probably once was but quite a bit of backbone with more intensity than I would have expected and as such, a bit better on its own than as a pairing. |

2/4/2023 - SawgrassSteve Likes this wine: 92 pointsUpon opening I wasn't tasting any depth, beautiful smell of cherries and some oak. An hour later and I'm literally blown away! This is atypical California Cab, this reminds me of a cross between a sophisticated burgundy and a CDP. No fruit bomb here(thankfully). I bought these from Clark back in the days of Wine Woot. I've cellared for over 7 years awaiting this moment. It pairs nicely with ribeye, medium rare. Am I in Heaven? |
