1/29/2008 - Cottonmather0 wrote: 82 pointsProbably drank it too soon as it was a major fruit bomb out of the bottle and seemed quite immature. That said, it mellowed out tremendously after sitting out for a while and paired quite nicely with the spicy special meatloaf and applesauce I made for dinner. |

1/3/2008 - Cottonmather0 wrote: 77 pointsBought 2 bottles for cooking Coq au Vin because it was the cheapest pinot noir in the grocery store. Had a glass just to give it a taste. Flavors of strawberry and cherry, maybe a little bit earthy and some oak in there, too, but for the most part this is very wimpy stuff. I know PN is intended to be delicate, but this is tissue paper thin and quite watery. Not recommended. |

1/1/2008 - Cottonmather0 wrote: 81 pointsI really really expected not to like this wine, but for the price and the locale it exceeded my expectations. It stood up well to a creamy bolognese pasta sauce. Not at all complex or fancy, but very well balanced, if a tad sweet, with some flavor of cherry, earth, and a slight hint of oak. No harshness whatsoever, perhaps it could stand a bit more tannin or spice, but it was imminently drinkable and much better than the cabernet purchased from the same winery on the same trip. |

12/19/2007 - Cottonmather0 wrote: 85 pointsVery nice local bottle of wine. Dark plum color, spicy nose, velvety feel in the mouth. Hints of cherry and pepper and chocolate with a full-bodied finish. Bold enough to paired very well with a spicy red beef pasta sauce and homemade chocolate chip cookies for desert. |

12/18/2007 - Cottonmather0 wrote: 81 pointsFound this buried in the cellar and drank it with a very strong garlic roasted chicken recipe. Beautiful yellow straw color and nice hints of apple and cinnamon. Very fruity nose. Aftertaste was very oaky and harsh, I think we waited way too long to drink it. |

11/5/2007 - Cottonmather0 wrote: 74 pointsFRUIT BOMB. I bought two bottles, figuring to sit on one but to drink the other immediately, considering the vintage (2007 in a store already) and blend. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either. Very fruity, very sweet, maybe some pepper and spice in there, too, but rather undeveloped. Let's see how the other bottle tastes in two years. |

9/17/2007 - Cottonmather0 wrote: 78 pointsNot quite as good as previous bottles (vintages) I have drunk before, but not bad for the price. Very acidic at first and sort of a harsh nose. Something of a very nice deep claret color though, very pretty to look at. After a bit of time spent breathing it was drinkable with a decent flavor and even a bit of oaky cherry complexity. Still a cheap wine, but a good cheap wine for the price. Perfect for drinking with pasta while watching Monday Night Football. |

7/9/2007 - Cottonmather0 wrote: 78 pointsGood for the money. Very strong flavor and probably unduly harsh, but drinkable, especially with a really hearty and rich meal like the Bolognese sauce I made for dinner tonight. Very fruity, very acidic. Not a great wine but definitely worth the five bucks I paid for it. |

You can tell from tasting that it's not overly expensive or fancy, but it's still very good for eating meatloaf in your kitchen. |
