2010 Domaine La Colliere Rasteau La FontaineGrenache Blend, Grenache more |
1/29/2024 - TXRhoneRanger wrote: 94 pointsSolid surprise bottle of Rasteau tonight. Was thinking that this may have been toast, but then that 15% abv showed up and smacked us both upside the head with all that grenachey good-good. Grenache that not only tiptoes into the black fruited spectrum, but jumps in with both puncheons. Brooding, boozy, and muscular. This is not for the shy of palate. Almost meaty in a way that reminds me of the Languedoc in a heat trap, or Carinena of Spain with all of that heft. Silky finish as well. A big winter wine that goes on and on. |

12/24/2023 - TXRhoneRanger wrote: 95 pointsMerry Christmas to me. Lovely wine. Aged gracefully with at least 10 more years left of life. Lots of lemon bar dessert and brioche. Not really on the yeasty side like the 1999, but quite excellent and completely smashable even though I didn't want to guzzle it, and I didn't, but I totally could have. Delicious Champs. Will seek out more of this. |
