12/3/2006 - splashjj wrote: 92 pointsVery good vintage port drank for a birthday celebration. Bottle looked well cared for with familiar aging to the label and foil cap. Cork came out mostly whole with only the last 1/4 inch breaking into the bottle. Decanted with paper towel and wire mesh filter and aerating funnel into a port decanter to breath four about two hours. Nose was very common to good vintage port with some black cherry and leather accents. Overall flavor was wonderful with accents again of black cherry, tobacco, earth, and some heat on the finish. |
