Observations: time favors this wine and it is coming into its own now and in 2014. Green notes turn into cinnamon and cherry and the barrel, tannins are well integrated. It is a different profile than the typical Willamette Pinot which can explain some of the disappointment. It tastes much Burgundian than American with its emphasis on structure in the midpalette (oak, vanilla). So I judge it relative to other Burgundian and find it a nice try and enjoyable. |
