Decanted 2 hours prior to tasting. Colour: deep bricky red but not showing true age. Nose: subtle notes of cedar, pencil lead, damp earth, some black fruit, wet wool. Taste: again, subtle notes of blackcurrant, spice and chocolate, medium bodied; long, tannic finish, close-knit with great depth. Improving whilst we are tasting it. Conclusion: Overall very impressive, a subtle yet elegant wine, enigmatic. A fitting wine to celebrate the birth of our daughter.

Colour: Pink, orange hue at rim, otherwise deep ruby red, clear, not much sediment on decanting. Nose: Cedar, pine, dried fruit, little cherry hints, menthol tones. Taste: Cherry, black fruit, well balanced though tannins are staring to show through, old fashioned wine, slightly austere.
