Tart cherry, earth, pepper, caramel, and smoke round out the nose with a tannic dark chocolate finish. Overall, not bad but lacked a bit of depth and complexity in our opinion. Asture, old school Bordeaux. |

Lovely nose of dark fruit which shows very rich and round on the palate. A bit of tobacco, herbs and pencil lead round out the aromas. Carrying on with flavors of dry dark chocolate, chalky minerality, cacao and grippy but refined tannins. Very nice wine with an attractive QPR in the $30 range. |

Wonderful medium dry tannins with a long, savory, tart, chalky finish. Time in the glass revealed some peppery notes and softened things overall although not in any way implying it was harsh to being with. Really lovely balanced wine. Perfectly paired with the Guancia di maiale brasata con polenta di mais at Osteria Della Bottega, Geneva. |

Opened slow ox for 2 hours and the nose was still dominated by the 15% alcohol. Spice, dark fruit on the nose. Palate to match with dark chocolate, licorice, pepper, tobacco and minerality combine to provide a gripping finish lasting for days. Excellent wine. Not timid or holding back in any way. |
