What were we thinking?? Bright raspberry smell with hints of cherry and ripe plum. Introduced cheddar and provolone cheeses to bring a new perspective. Light bodied for a 20 year old Cabernet. Initially presenting inky undertones, the character of this wine is complex. I need to drink more to truly appreciate all that this wine has to offer. |

One hour decant and paired with pizza and salad, not your usual pairing, but good. Dark cheery and currants on the front palate, relatively short finish that is clean and dry. Even a bit of fruit forward with a juicy finish after 12 years. Finish and profile typical of Merlot, but without the drying nature of the finish typical from many. Nice bottle of wine. |
