3/27/2024 - Bubblesearcher23 Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis is a relatively cheap bottle that probably wasn't meant to go nine years. However, it has held up surprisingly well. Color is a tawny red with a brownish rim. On the nose, both primary notes of cherry and red fruits, mixed with some tertiary notes of leather and wet earth. With a few minutes in the glass, the nose really opens up with a beautiful perfumed quality. The palate is similarly mixed, definitely some residual fruit there, including strawberry, black cherry, but also cigar box, leather, maybe a hint of cocoa on the finish. A bit acidic/unbalanced and probably over slightly over the hill, but definitely worth the $13 this cost. Solid QPR, punches well above its weight. |

As they say, there are no great wines, only great bottles of wine, and this bottle was scrumptious. It has beautiful integrated flavors of vibrant red cherry, smoked meat, clove and cinnamon spice. The wine coats your mouth for a lengthy mouth watering finish. Paired perfectly with our grilled pork tenderloin and pan cooked beets and beet greens. |

While it is not a "wow" Pinot Noir, it is an good value that hits all the PN taste categories with some earthiness and went well with the grill salmon. The rough tart finish on this wine is what really holds it back. Past it's prime, drink up. |
