2017 Terra dei Celti Barolo PezoleNebbiolo more |
5/1/2022 - JxE Likes this wine: 91 pointsA great little example of Piedmont without showing off too much. This hit my preferred flavour profile with cherry, dark fruit along with cedar, tobacco within a pleasantly mid-weight wine. |

2011 Craggy Range SophiaGimblett Gravels Red Bordeaux Blend more |
4/16/2022 - JxE Likes this wine: 89 pointsA typically polished and well balanced example from Craggy Range. At 11 years in the bottle this is drinking fine however I can't see much more flavour development from this point. A sound bordeaux blend and well made, but nothing remarkable. |

2015 Felton Road Pinot Noir Bannockburnmore |
4/15/2022 - JxE Likes this wine: 93 pointsConsistently punches above its weight. Drinking well with some years still left. Cherry and red fruit closely followed by slight forest floor to maintain an ideally balanced PN. |

2015 Penfolds Shiraz St. HenriSouth Australia more |
4/15/2022 - JxE Likes this wine: 92 pointsTextbook Penfolds balance. Fruit still very fresh, would keep another 10years at least under screwcap. Full and silky mouth feel. Had not yet developed savoury characteristics but they are there. |

2016 Roberto Sarotto Barbaresco RiservaNebbiolo more |
1/9/2022 - JxE Likes this wine: 91 pointsHas all the desired elements of a barbaresco; immediate red fruit followed up with roses, cigar box and underlying hints of stewed fruit add to complexity. It's light with ample acidity but still with a balanced tannic grip on the finish. At this price a great example of barbaresco and one to reach for more frequently. |
