Leftovers are fantastic the next night with some dark chocolate. |

An array of flavour here, ranging from sweeter fig, caramel, and fruitcake type notes to roasted hazelnuts, smoke, and herbal elements. All that air, shockingly enough, has not turned this into an acetaldehyde-laden mess of flaws. Very complex and layered, with figgy, raisiny fruit at the core, and layers of butterscotch, toffee, caramel, and more oxidative nutty notes adding depth. Certainly quite sweet, but also very well balanced with bright acids beneath that give it good lift. |

Incredibly rich and slightly viscous on the palate with concentrated sweet dark fruits and some chocolate flavours. Finish is long and rich without any of the alcohol (over 20%!) showing. A really great match with chocolate cake. |
