Lots of cherry and acid in the wine. It's definitely more hedonistic but not overwhelming, but it has the underbelly in its frame to go along for the wine. Really delicious bottle. |

When the wine first hits, it's a soft cherry and vanilla but it quickly yields to HUGE roof coating tannins. The tannins are a bit overwhelming, I don't get much else from the wine and there's virtually no finish. |

HUGE loads of strawberries, with a hint of cocoa. A finish of green pepper , sour cherries and tannins. My problem with the wine is the copious amount of toasted oak and vanilla, a bit too heavy for my taste. I prefer a more restrained easy to drink Merlot. But I still liked this a lot. This had the finish but the Buccella had the smoothness of a classical merlot. |

Still pretty tannic for a merlot of this “smoothness”. Incredibly intense nose and mid palate, you’re just overwhelmed by the strawberries and chocolate. My hangup with this wine is the short finish, you’re looking at a 10-15 second finish while the Pride had a good 25+ second finish. This leads me to believe this wine might be at its best in the next 2-3 years. 93 |
