Whatttt - served blind, wouldn't have guessed any older than 2001. Still structured but with a sweet round red fruit that was lush and delicious. Lots of cherry and acid in the wine. It's definitely more hedonistic but not overwhelming, but it has the underbelly in its frame to go along for the wine. Really delicious bottle.

Excellent bordeaux. Oh what. It's merlot? from Italy? Big big wine. Tons of sweet fruit, framed by a touch of oak. Very dense heavy palate. A clear shift from the other wines we've had. Surprising that it's a 98 as it tastes like a 2009 bordeaux.

A pretty simple tasting wine. Nice fruit /w coffee beans and acidity with some secondary characteristics coming out but it seemed a bit tired. Surprised since it came out of a magnum.

Meaty dark red cherries with some tartish red berries on the nose. When the wine first hits, it's a soft cherry and vanilla but it quickly yields to HUGE roof coating tannins. The tannins are a bit overwhelming, I don't get much else from the wine and there's virtually no finish.

Personally my least favorite wine of the night. Just loads of black pepper on the nose with some dirt and sour cherry. A big ol handful of tart cherries with a medicinal aftertaste. A tannic and disjointed rough finish.

Dark extracted fruit with loads of pepper on the nose. Huge wine, just so consuming, I thought it was a Petite Sirah at first. HUGE loads of strawberries, with a hint of cocoa. A finish of green pepper , sour cherries and tannins. My problem with the wine is the copious amount of toasted oak and vanilla, a bit too heavy for my taste. I prefer a more restrained easy to drink Merlot. But I still liked this a lot. This had the finish but the Buccella had the smoothness of a classical merlot.

Brian called this a wussy wine. A soft lushish velvety mouthful of ripe strawberries with a load of chocolate, vanilla, and toasted oak to back it up. Still pretty tannic for a merlot of this “smoothness”. Incredibly intense nose and mid palate, you’re just overwhelmed by the strawberries and chocolate. My hangup with this wine is the short finish, you’re looking at a 10-15 second finish while the Pride had a good 25+ second finish. This leads me to believe this wine might be at its best in the next 2-3 years. 93

Far better than the last bottle.
Nose of strawberry, oak, vanilla, cocoa
a mouthful of chocolate and ripe fruit with a bit of heat on the finish. Not a bad QPR.

Strawberrry, oak on the nose. A bit hot.
Dark concentrated cherry flavors and other type of acidic berries. Globs of oak, still tannic.
Finish is extremely alcohol laden. No fruit on the finish just alcohol. Maybe it needs time?

Simple wine to drink, nothing to write home about. Alcohol content is just way too high.
