Dark cherry and vanilla nose with a hint of mint. Mouth feel says it all - this wine is at its prime I think, luscious, soft with a little bright edge. Lingering strawberry finish. Deep purple and shades of black in the glass. Menthol, citrus and some smoke on the nose (bacon too?), velvety and soft mouth feel. Almond, black fruit, bing cherry and vanilla. Cleaned the inside of the neck and it poured nicely down to the last few tablespoons which had sediment. Blood red in the glass, black in the decanter. Chocolate, cherry and dark fruit on the nose. Some acid on the front, menthol lingers on the back. My kind of wine. My last bottle of this vintage, but if it wasn't, I'd line them up to drink soon. |

Not much going on nose-wise but that's at least partially due to the temperature in the glass and was definitely opening up as it warmed up. I got a bit of pine and cherry notes. Medium body in the glass. Strawberry, honey and mint tastes. Quite smooth for a wine at this price point. Very drinkable. |
