Eating with salami and mushroom pizza that has slightly burnt crust and and sprinkled with chili flakes- and the wines manages to easily push through the salty and bitter tones of the pizza. Hadn't drank the previous bottles since 2010 and it has matured well over the past 2 years. Fig jam and raisin toast on the nose |

5/24/2012 - Shawncho wrote: 91 pointsGood wine-- very dry. Ur I've enjoyed a lot of wines for much less $ but one of the older cans I've tried.. It took an hour to really open, did not decant. We wanted to progress through the layers... So a lot of glass swirling. We had had 3 bottles prior (Calera Pinot, Hartford Zin, and Wild Boar cab) before we hit this one so the pallet may have been a bit over saturated by then - the label is forward- and accurate in its description (not a big fruit napa cab... ) |
