The color is a very evolved shade of burnt yellow, almost amber. On the nose the wine is very full-bodied with notes of toffee, melted butter and over-ripe fruit. On the palate there are oaky notes of salted toffee, cream, ripe yellow plums, caramelized lemon peel and popcorn.

The delightful copper toned color, rich bead of bubbles and generous nose of matured gouda, cream, ripe fruit and an overall sense of visiting a french bakery in the early morning are very promising. On the palate there is soft vanilla custard, strong toasty notes of almond biscuits and a gentle undertone of fruit. Not great, but good.

The color is a surprisingly delicate pale yellow. The nose is filled with burnt sugar, broadly spicy oakiness and slightly sweet fruity and floral notes as well as a pleasant yeastiness.

On the palate it is very rich with notes of luscious butterscotch, sweet yellow plums and ripe yellow apples. A strong mineral backbone is evident, but the wine is still quite unevolved and unbalanced. The lingering aftertaste of allspice, hazelnuts and ripening fruit promises better days to come. Be patient with this one.

Truly outstanding. The intense color, golden with a delightful copper hue, and the vividly floral and fruity, gently oaky nose with a delightful hint of cream evolves on the palate to enticing flavors of dried honey, burnt cinnamon, caramelized figs, a hint of chalk and a strong undertone of ripe apricots.

The aging in small Argonne oak barrels brings strong, toasty tones of truffles and brioche dough, but the oak is beautifully integrated and the end result is a very balanced wine. The elegant taste is long and intense and somehow brings to mind a fortified wine such as a dry Marsala.
