2008 Darioush Cabernet Sauvignon

See wine details

Inspired by the power and grace exhibited in the great wines of Bordeaux, Darioush Signature Cabernet Sauvignon exemplifies how the cooler-climate vineyards of southern Napa Valley produce wines with extraordinary depth, character and poise. The 2008 vintage is the first to benefit from a greater proportion of ‘Sage’ vineyard fruit, our latest acquisition atop Mt. Veeder.

About This Wine:
Composition: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec
Appellation: Darioush Estate Vineyards in Mt. Veeder, Oak Knoll, Napa Valley
Cooperage: Aged 22 months in 85% new Taransaud Chateau Traditional French oak barrels from Troncais
Winemaker: Steve Devitt
Availability: 7,073 cases

Tasting Notes:
Blessed by a warmer than average harvest, small berry sizes and significantly lower yields, wines from the 2008 vintage offer great concentration of flavor, color and texture. Endowed with a sturdy core of earth, espresso and dark chocolate balanced by vibrant black fruits and savory layers of lavender and sage, the 2008 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon achieves both complexity and poise. We admire this wine for its dynamism and potential to outshine its siblings, while clearly maintaining the ‘Signature’ of this estate.
