May 12, 2010 - Golden straw, clear and translucent. On the nose the wine was subtle with toasted hazelnut, apple pie, clove and cardamom, honeysuckle and stone. The palate was expansive and complex with quiet oak influence beneath pear puree, ripe fig, buttered toast, lemon meringue and baking spice. The acidity was understated, but the wine displayed balance of fruit, alcohol, and length. It drank as though the wine was more developed that it should've been, which was fine with me. Very enjoyable now but should develop more complexity over the next 8-16 years.
