December 31, 2011 - New Year's Eve at A's home: After struggling to pull out the absolutely tight sitting cork, I am surprised that this has no sediment whatsoever. Color, nose and palate, all shout "nice Super Tuscan". Clearly a well made Sangiovese/Merlot (?) blend but not a Brunello in my eyes. In the glass there is very little of the usual brick red. The Sangiovese is hwoever shinning through nicely but subtly on the nose, and on the palate which is medium weight and as good balance. Tannins are well integrated. Medium plus finish. 91-92
Need to try a Siro Pacenti post "Brunellogate".
