  February 14, 2012 - Very enjoyable restaurant purchase. Dark, full bodied, opened after a brief decant with aromas of dark cherries, berries, plum, and vanilla. Typical Napa Cabernet flavor profile; still fairly young so most of the secondary flavors have not yet evolved. The wine contains close to 20% Merlot, which seemed to soften the firm tannins. Excellent sturcture, decanting definitely required at this juncture. Long finish. Paired well at Valentine's dinner with a grilled fillet, prawns, and lobster. IMHO slightly better than the 2007 Cakebread Napa Cabernet which was also enjoyed.
