The palate opens similarly, boasting intricate mixed red fruits with good focus and a welcome brambly quality. The mid-palate turns more savory, adding underlying components of spice, dried herbs, and rose petal. Sweet/sour red fruit, stem/smoke, and aged leather linger on the medium-long finish, all framed by sturdy tannins. It is medium bodied with a distinct intensity of flavor and lifting acidity, as well as holds nice balance between california fruit and its savory side. R&M 90
