  June 1, 2013 - Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2010 - Check-up on 20 Top names; 4/1/2013-3/18/2016: Medium purple. Slightly reserved nose of black berries, licorice and cherry/kirsch, very fruity Grenache style. On the palate outstanding balance between gripping tannins, full body and fresh acidity, again the strength of the 2010 vintage comes through. Even the 15.5% alcohol CdP are not that heavy in 2010, great! RP gave this wine 100Pt., many readers on this website 96-100, I personally think this wine needs more aromatic complexity to score beyond 95pt; we'll see what the future brings. In any case, the wine has now closed down big time. I would not touch this until 2020.
