  April 19, 2014 - This is one of the Calif CabSav I collected for a long time as I frequently use it as a pirate for my high end Bordeaux tastings (together with Pahlmayer Red, Araujo and Phelps Insignia). Tasting note: Dark core with garnet rim. Evolved color but still quite dark for a 96. Quite a reserved nose a bit alcoholic. Upon taking a sip aromas of red fruit, licorice, sweet spices and some flowers. Medium bodied with very good balance in the mouth. A bit to "sweet" for my palate, but that is just personal preference. Very good CabSav no doubt but I don't go as high as RP's 98 as I feel the point preventing it from performing above 95 is its level of aromatic complexity. Ready now, great pleasure but not as good as the best ones of this vineyard. Drink up.
