  May 10, 2014 - A Randy Birthday (The Straits Wine Company @ UE Square): Tasted blind. Aired in decanter for >2 hours before drinking.
  Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour.
  Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of tea leaves and a bit of leather. Don't get much fruit. ?Developing.
  On the palate, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, medium+ silky tannins, medium+ body. Medium flavor intensity, with flavours of black tea leaves, leather, and extremely shy red fruit. Medium finish.
  Good quality. I guessed a Brunello correctly. I think this could be in a dumb phase rather than past its prime. The fruit seems to be hiding rather than dead.
