November 20, 2016 - Neutral because my wife got a migraine that eve. Only happens with new world cabs. So a split decision here.
Decanted from AM. A fruity, lush and almost soft wine, tannins pretty fully integrated, fruit forward, with a bit less on the back end. It might be that it's best time is now and the next few years. My impression is clearly different from last January. Perhaps it's the long decant? Perhaps it's the legacy of 12 days in Italy recently? If my impressions vary so, am I reliable? Ok, too much philosophical here, but I have to try and learn, what's changed here, in a relatively short time, the wine or my understanding of my palate.

11/20/16, 11:41 AM - I found from the last two bottles of the '06 that the wine fares far better when either not decanted if drinking over a longer drinking time or a short decant if a PnP. It just seemed to start falling apart after a few hours of exposure and seemed to loose a bit of 'everything', even seemed to show some green notes.

Still have a few more bottles to see if just a phase or if its getting to its decline.
