May 19, 2017 - Drank after decant and over the course of 2 hrs. Dull ruby-garnet in the glass. Fine sediment, with bricking and edge showing violet and blue at the rim.

First tasting: Rich honeysuckle, prune, orange leaves and rosewater florals on the nose. Smooth front palate shows red fruit bright acidity. Relatively closed mid palate brings forward round tannins and mild pucker through the finish. Back palate shows oak but is a little thin and doesn't have its heart into it, like an aging courtesan with f-you money. May be past her prime, but don't dare speak a word of it or she'll cut you.

Second tasting: Nose is starting to sing from the glass, plums, cassis, sandalwood and black fruit. Acid on the front palate is still present, but mid palate now shows deep blue-black fruit, leather mixed with silky tannins and a longer, more sultry finish. A much denser mouthfeel with real structure, almost merlot-like weight through the finish. Damn she sexy.
