March 3, 2018 - Underwhelming considering the hype behind SQN and Krankel, and that this is a 11.5 years old bottle arguably in its drinking window now. A good Syrah indeed, but nothing that you can not experience with other good Cali producers at half the price tag (think L aventure or Denner). I can t add to what other reviewers have written here regarding descriptors which are accurate, again good typicity of a Cali Syrah but not a wow wine. Perhaps is too young, ruby red at the rim and dark to the core, took a long time to open - about 3 hours in decanter and after that 90 minutes in glass where the last sips where the better showing, so I wonder if it needs more time but being a Cali Syrah of this age and reading what other reviewers of last have said, I wouldn’t be sure. I would like to try my other bottle of this in 3 or 4 years
