Community Tasting Note

March 6, 2021 - Decanted 2 hours before dinner. Note from PNP. Medium red color with slight browning. On nose, rose petals, cedar, sweet cherry and plum. On palate, medium+ body, medium acidity, medium+ tannins and long finish. Enjoyable but not a re-buy. I'm starting to wonder if my palate has moved on from Barolos - I much prefer Brunello's these days. 91+/-

3/6/21, 9:04 AM - I find Barolo like much of red Burgundy. Over hyped, over priced and all to often completely fails to deliver BUT it is only my opinion and maybe I’ve lost the palette for them. Back in the 70/80s found them much more enjoyable and better value and bottled by negotiants .

3/6/21, 10:53 AM - Interesting. If Red Burgundy was 1/4 the price maybe I'd enjoy them but not at today's prices. Don't get what has happened to Barolo - I still love Red Bordeaux and Brunello so maybe just a change in palate over time - thanks for the post. I don't have experience with Barolos earlier than '99.
