From Coravin. Peach, mango, a little citrus, polished oak, butter, a little struck match. Tangy rather than juicy; a little soft in fact, fruit slightly muted, touch of struck match, touch of butter. Okay.

from 750ml bottle. dark with brown hue. marmalade, apricot jam, honeysuckle and caramel, with a little nut and crème brûlée, dense texture, sufficient acidity to support a large-scale and balanced structure, good on density and length.

It's a bit oxidised, having some port-like flavours, which is not favoured, however, in a rare chance to taste a 27-year-old d'Yquem, how can I expect freshness, I accept it as a flavour of age.

I must confess this was a little disappointing - I was expecting ripe but controlled dark fruits, sweet spice, a little vanilla and oak in support. I got sharp(ly adjusted) acidity married to baked and slightly burnt black fruits, red and black liquorice. Chewy tannins and coarse and cumbersome. Disjointed and upsetting.

A surprise with regard to the other vintages I’ve had of this wine. It typically shows a wild bouquet and a fascinating blend of fruit and floral and spice on both nose and palate.

In contrast this 2015 is a bit of a monolith, and could’ve easily been mistaken for a ripely styled Napa Cab. Vanilla and toasty oak with cassis and a dense core of rounded tannins. Hopefully this is an outlier!

Pretty classic in the red fruited syrah notes. Loads of peppercorn and rocks with a bit of smoky stuff. Those moody dark red fruits have plenty of attitude and intrigue. Superb balance, wonderful persistence, and a real delight.

PNP and drinking well right out of the gate.

Not bad now but I think it is losing it. I suspect past its best.

It presents itself with its very intense, dense, and thick ruby red color. The aromas emanating from the glass have the depth of red fruit, especially blackberries and sour cherries, with the intensity and penetrating notes of tertiary scents: leather and tobacco first and foremost. In the mouth, it's a burst of energy and strength from a well-structured body, where the interplay of tannins is prominent but unfolds on a delicate carpet.

2006-2008 Nebbiolo Tasting (Bologna): Served double blind.
Last battery, also the least one. It shows a more fine and fresh nose than the modern Sandrone, but it is still so tannic to be enjoyed and obviously less complex than the other ones. Actually the less appreciated of the day IMHO. 88

Last battery, also the least one. Very tertiary at the beginning, then more typical. In the mouth muscles and tannins. Not my favourite today, only better than 2008 Bricco Sarmassa Brezza. 88-89

A beautiful Saint Emilion that, even in a not particularly favorable vintage, has managed to distinguish itself and bring character and pleasantness. 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc with one year of aging in barrels (20% new). It opens with a significant vegetal note of bell pepper, hay, then expands to make room for fruit - dried plums, cherries under spirits, and damsons. Mineral notes emerge, reminiscent of gunpowder, iron filings, almost rusty, undergrowth, and a lovely mentholated note that lifts the nose. In the mouth, it has completely smoothed tannins, medium acidity and freshness, and a beautiful finish that lingers for about ten seconds.

A truly enjoyable wine. Complete from start to finish, lively yet full of flavor. Aromas and flavors of black raspberry and stone fruit, some light smoke and spice… tannins mostly resolved now and the tang/tart perception from a couple years ago has rounded out as expected. Elegant, tasty, and fun.

Quite disappointing for the little identity it manages to express, the bubble isn't as persistent as you'd like, and ultimately lacks that characteristic that you would attribute to a specific terroir or particularly skilled hand.

Abbastanza deludente per la poca identità che riesce ad esprimere, le bolla non è persistenza quanto vorresti ed alla fine non ha quella caratteristica che riconduci ad un territorio o ad una mano particolarmente illuminata

PnP, then drunk over three evenings.
Cork is a diam 10, which seems to do its job very well. The wine color is light yellow with green hues. It looks very young. Also the nose gives the impression of a young wine: not much on the fruit anymore, but a classic Cote de Beaune, with no sign of evolution yet. Quite tight on the palate, but it relaxed and became more enjoyable on day 2, after a day in the fridge. A very nice Puligny and absolutely no hurry for the remaining bottles.

Made with 100% Moscatel de Chipiona from "El Camino del Puerto" from "Pago Abulagar" (0.7 ha), 15 months in French oak, 14% ABV, 1550 bottles produced. Rich Muscat aromas and rich and ripe fruit, the nose not unlike a fortified Rhône Muscat, quite dry and refreshing on the palate, good freshness and lots of chalky energy, clear and pure expression, nice fleshy weight, attractive bitters and yeasty complexity, convincing and expansive finish. Excellent and interesting.
